Cobalt powders are commonly used to manufacture superalloys which are used to produce magnetic, wear- and corrosion resistant and high-strength products. Like iron, cobalt is magnetic and can be used to make magnets.

Cobalt powder is also used for superhard alloy materials (such as cemented carbide and artificial diamond tools). Its performance determines the bonding performance, strength and toughness of superhard alloy materials, and is crucial to the use performance of superhard alloy materials.

Its main application is additive manufacturing (AM) and surface coating, such as 3D printing, laser cladding and plasma transferred arc (PTA), especially for powder bed fusion (PBF) techniques like selective laser melting (SLM). It is commonly used to customize the targeted compositions. For AM application, our common production process for pure Co powder is Gas (argon or nitrogen) Atomizing process (GA).
