Carbonyl Iron Powder
Carbonyl iron powder is processed using carbon monoxide, Fe(CO)5 compound was heated (150-300℃) and decomposed into iron and carbon monoxide. This process involves forming the carbonyl compound first and then breaking it down to get pure iron particles which allows for very fine and pure iron powder and is better choice for applications requiring high purity.
The properties of carbonyl iron powder are related to its purity and particle size. Carbonyl iron powder has spherical shape leading to good flow characteristics and high density.
Carbonyl iron powder, since its high purity, might be used where impurities are a problem, like in magnetic materials for electronics or microwave absorbers. It is effective to absorb electromagnetic interference. It also can be used as an iron supplement because of its high purity and bioavailability.
Recently nanostructural carbonyl iron powders are developed for advanced applications, like in nanotechnology or improved EMI shielding materials.
Carbonyl iron powders, as other iron powders, it has higher purity than other iron powders and spherical morphology ideal for high-tech applications. Reduced iron powder has lower cost but irregular shapes, used in welding and metallurgy areas. Water atomized iron powder has larger particles, but also irregular shapes, commonly used in structural parts of PM area.

Spherical vs Irregular Metal Powders
Spherical vs Irregular Metal Powders: What You Need to Know? I often see buyers choose metal powder by price first. Later, they face poor flow, low density, or failed builds. I made the same mistake early on. Powder shape looks simple, but it decides everything downstream. Spherical and irregular metal

LPBF Rene 125 -Optimizing HIP Temperature for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) Superalloy Rene 125
In recent years, nickel-based superalloys like Rene 125 have attracted growing interest in the aerospace industry, particularly in turbine engine components where mechanical strength, oxidation resistance, and creep resistance at high temperatures are critical. Traditionally, Rene 125 has been processed via directional solidification (DS), but this method is both time-consuming

Water Atomised Iron & Prealloy Steel Powder
Water Atomised Iron & Prealloy Steel Powder Water atomised iron powder involves melting iron and dispersing it into fine droplets using high-pressure jets of water (water atomization). Then these droplets solidify into powder particles. Water atomization produces irregularly shaped particles because water has higher viscosity and impact force compared to
Water Atomised Stainless Steel Powder
Water Atomised Stainless Steel Powder Water atomised stainless steel powders involve some stainless steel grades, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 410L, 430L, 434L, 409L, 201, etc. Water atomization disintegrates molten stainless steel into fine droplets using high-pressure water jets. The process steps include: melting in a furnace, atomizing by water jets
Magnetic Powder
Magnetic Powder Soft magnetic powders are typically iron based alloy blended with elements like Si, Ni, Co or Al to optimize magnetic performance, including Fe-Si, Fe-Ni, Fe-Co series and also amorphous /nanocrystalline alloys by adding boron or phosphorus offering ultra-low core loss. Sponge Iron Powder
Sponge Iron Powder Sponge iron powder is a form of iron characterized by a porous, sponge-like structure, produced via the direct reduction process. This method reduces iron ore using reducing gases like carbon monoxide and hydrogen at temperatures below iron’s melting point (800-1200℃), then reduction products crushed into powders. Truer
